Our Process
Our process will take place under one roof in the Lake Highlands community. The needs are great but when likeminded community members, organizations, and volunteers partner together we are able to see amazing things happen.
Crime, disease, lack of opportunity.
Food, housing, emergency healthcare.
Education, job training, financial literacy.
New jobs, stronger families, local opportunities.
About The Project
City of Refuge Lake Highlands will be focused on relationships that address core human needs and provide customized pathways for our most disadvantaged residents to reach their potential.
This initiative will provide people experiencing homelessness with the necessary services and environment to recover while creating a sense of community connected to and integrated with the surrounding neighborhoods.
Every person provided a pathway of opportunity to reach their full potential.

Project Partner
The Human Impact (THI) believes the fundamental solution to poverty and homelessness is replacing broken relationships with new, healthy ones. THI's role is to recruit housing candidates for Lake Highlands Village and help create community rules and accountability measures. THI is led by Founder and President Elisabeth Jordan, and its mission is to befriend people experiencing homelessness and bridge the relational gap to change lives. THI’s team builds trust over time with its friends and identifies their root causes of homelessness. They then partner with those friends to walk alongside them toward a new future—one that they articulate. This future often includes meaningful work, a safe place to live, access to quality medical and mental healthcare, and legal assistance.

City of Refuge Lake Highlands is built upon a proven model of light hope and transformation that has existed in Atlanta Georgia of over 20 years.
